HISTORY
The son of international fùtbol/soccer; the father of American Football; Rugby has been around since the early 19th century. This England-born sport combines the finesse and endurance required for soccer, with the toughness and brutal contact that has since evolved in American Football. Although it has been played for many years and seen some changes in the rules during its development, Rugby continues to be one of the fastest growing sports around the globe.

CCU RUGBY
The CCU Rugby Club was founded in 2002 by Dr. John Graham. Since his departure the club has been coached by several others, including Robert Kegler, Nick Pike, Matthew Mendelssohn and current coach Thomas Barnett. The club has had several playoff appearances and one undefeated 10-0 season in 2009, earning them the DIII NSCRO National Championship. As of 2011, the club competes in the Southern Rugby Conference at the DII level.
